September 18, 2022<\/i><\/p>\n

1. On September 16, 2022, six children were killed and many were injured because of a military\u00a0<\/i>terrorist airstrike on a self-supporting school of local residents in Lat Yat Kone village, Tabayin\u00a0<\/i>township, Sagaing region.<\/i><\/p>\n

2. Following the airstrike, ground troops of military terrorist arrested approximately 20 students\u00a0<\/i>and teachers who were trapped in the school, including the injured children, and sent them to\u00a0<\/i>Ye Oo township.<\/i><\/p>\n

3. Ministry of Human Rights, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Women, Youths and Children\u00a0<\/i>Affairs of the National Unity Government strongly condemn the targeted attacks on the\u00a0<\/i>schools, which is an inhuman and brutal war crime. The arrested children and teachers need\u00a0<\/i>to be released without any harms.<\/i><\/p>\n

4. The National Unity Government has been meticulously documenting the serious human rights\u00a0<\/i>violations and maintaining its consistent effort to bring justice in various ways.<\/i><\/p>\n

5. The international community has responsibility to support the effort of bringing justice for war\u00a0<\/i>crimes, such as gross violations of children\u2019s \u201cRight to Education\u201d and heinous targeted attacks\u00a0<\/i>on schools.<\/i><\/p>\n
